NANCY MACE CAMPAIGN SETS CATHERINE TEMPLETON’S IMMIGRATION RECORD STRAIGHT AFTER HER COMMENTS MISLEAD VOTERS

April 18, 2024 – CHARLESTON, S.C. – Nancy Mace’s campaign for re-election fact-checked Catherine Templeton today for repeatedly making false claims that Templeton “drafted” and “wrote” an immigration bill that was signed into law. Templeton has never served in public office in any legislature and has never drafted a bill let alone had one signed into law.

“Catherine Templeton is taking credit for laws she neither drafted nor wrote,” said Mace spokeswoman Gabrielle Lipsky. “Templeton has never won an election to any legislature to be able to even draft a bill, let alone sign one into law. Templeton’s record on immigration is weak at best, and here she is trying to take credit for the South Carolina legislature’s accomplishments to make up for it.”

During Templeton’s time at the SC LLR state agency, she fired 85 percent of the state’s immigration enforcement agents. She recently apologized for calling illegals invading the Southern Border “illegal aliens,” much like President Joe Biden.

On the contrary, Nancy Mace continues to work hard to secure the southern border and keep illegal aliens out of the Lowcountry. Mace voted to impeach Secretary Mayorkas; she introduced the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act; supported and voted for HR2 or the Secure the Border Act, she supported and voted for the Homeland Security appropriations bill which included strong border security measures. She’s stood against the establishment and Joe Biden’s wide open border policies over and over again.
