FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NANCY MACE DEMANDS TV STATIONS REMOVE TEMPLETON AD
Catherine Templeton ad purposely and intentionally misleads voters on bill Templeton Did Not Draft
Charleston S.C. – April 24th, 2024 – Nancy Mace’s campaign released a Cease & Desist Letter sent to multiple TV stations and networks for airing false advertisements about Catherine Templeton’s record and demands the TV ad be taken off the air for false advertising. The false advertisement is in violation of Federal Communications Commission’s 1961 ruling titled “Licensee Responsibility With Respect to the Broadcast of False, Misleading or Deceptive Advertising.”
An advertisement funded by WFW Action Funding claimed Templeton was the author of the “toughest immigration bill in the country,” referring to S 20 Act 69. This advertisement is categorically false as Templeton has never held public office to draft a bill, and this specific piece of legislation was actually authored by Senator Larry Grooms.
Sen. Grooms has endorsed Congresswoman Mace following Templeton’s false claims. Sen. Groom’s immigration reform bill was drafted and filed prior to Templeton even being confirmed by the state Senate to serve as Secretary to the SC LLR, therefore, she Constitutionally could not have been involved in the drafting or creation of this bill.
TEMPLETON’S FAILING IMMIGRATION RECORD
Templeton’s career as a Columbia bureaucrat can be defined by her record, where she:
- Lied about authoring an immigration bill drafted by Senator Larry Grooms
- Fired 85 percent of South Carolina’s immigration enforcement agents during her time at the SC LLR
- Apologized for calling immigrants invading our southern border “illegal aliens,” much like Joe Biden did and within 24 hours of each other
MACE’S TOUGH RECORD ON IMMIGRATION
Rep. Mace has been a consistent fighter for securing the southern border and keeping illegal aliens out of the Lowcountry, by:
- Calling out Joe Biden and the DC Establishment.
- Voting for the End the Border Catastrophe Act.
- Voting to impeach the Sec. of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.
- Introducing the Violence Against Women By Illegal Aliens Act.
- Voting for the Secure the Border Act (HR2).
- Voting for the Homeland Security appropriations bill.
- Introducing the Northern Triangle Asylum Cooperative Agreement Reimplementation Act to return to President Trump’s tough border security policies.
