Nancy Mace for Governor announced today Austin McCubbin, a proven strategist and longtime Trump ally, is returning to Team Mace as one of her lead consultants.
McCubbin managed Mace’s first re-election in 2022, delivering an 8-point victory in one of the most competitive Republican congressional primaries in the country. His return underscores Mace’s commitment to the America First agenda.
“Nancy Mace worked for President Trump before it was cool,” said McCubbin. “There isn’t a more formidable candidate in this race with a longer history of supporting President Trump, and I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about teaming up with Nancy for another historic win.”
Trump Co-Campaign Manager Chris LaCivita, who served as Nancy Mace’s media consultant in 2022, recruited McCubbin to serve as the South Carolina State Director for Team Trump in April 2023. In that role, McCubbin led the state to secure more endorsements than any other early-voting state and built a grassroots army that delivered a decisive 20-point victory over former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.
James Blair, now a White House Deputy Chief of Staff, brought McCubbin onto his senior political team at Trump Campaign Headquarters in West Palm Beach in January 2024.

McCubbin has been in politics for over three decades, starting as a volunteer on his first congressional campaign in 1994. His career includes serving as Body Man and Director of Advance for Governor Ernie Fletcher (2005–2007), a DoD contractor in Iraq (2008–2009), and campaign manager for Andy Barr’s successful 2010 primary. He also served as a fundraising consultant for Senator Rand Paul’s first U.S. Senate race before moving into general consulting on congressional and statewide campaigns nationwide.
