CATHERINE TEMPLETON CAUGHT PHOTOBOMBING LARRY GROOMS AT BILL SIGNING
S.C. Sen. Larry Grooms Hosts Bill Press Conference; Templeton Only Shows Up for the Photo Op, Claims Credit for Writing
April 26th, 2024 – CHARLESTON, S.C. – Nancy Mace’s campaign called out Catherine Templeton for posting a photo intentionally misleading Lowcountry voters to try to convince them she wrote S 20 Act 69, which is a bill written by Senator Larry Grooms. He filed the bill in 2010; Templeton did not even get confirmed by the state Senate to work at LLR until 2011.
Templeton attempted to deceive voters by posting a photo of Larry Grooms at his bill’s press conference, while she photobombed in the background. Photobombing a press conference with the bill’s actual author, does not mean she wrote the bill. Templeton’s campaign was called out for this lie earlier this week.
“Templeton will never understand what it takes to be a legislator,” said Mace spokeswoman Gabrielle Lipsky. “Taking credit for everyone else’s work shows Templeton’s own delusions of grandeur and it is dishonest to Lowcountry voters. Looks like all she said was ‘cheese’ with this bill and photobombing was the only role she played.”
Senator Grooms endorsed Congresswoman Mace this week in response to Templeton falsely taking credit for his legislation. Don’t take our word for it, hear from the author of the bill yourself:
As the author of the toughest immigration bill in the nation, I proudly endorse Nancy Mace,” said Sen. Grooms. “I’ve worked with Nancy over the years and know no one will work harder for the Lowcountry. Donald Trump believes in her and so do I.”
TEMPLETON’S FAILING IMMIGRATION RECORD
Templeton’s career as a Columbia bureaucrat can be defined by her record, where she:
- Lied about authoring an immigration bill drafted by Senator Larry Grooms
- Fired 85 percent of South Carolina’s immigration enforcement agents during her time at the SC LLR
- Apologized for calling immigrants invading our southern border “illegal aliens,” much like Joe Biden did and within 24 hours of each other
MACE’S TOUGH RECORD ON IMMIGRATION
Rep. Mace has been a consistent fighter for securing the southern border and keeping illegal aliens out of the Lowcountry, by:
- Supports the Wall
- Calling out Joe Biden and the DC Establishment.
- Voting for the End the Border Catastrophe Act.
- Voting to impeach the Sec. of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.
- Introducing the Violence Against Women By Illegal Aliens Act.
- Voting for the Secure the Border Act (H.R. 2).
- Voting for the Homeland Security appropriations bill.
- Introducing the Northern Triangle Asylum Cooperative Agreement Reimplementation Act to return to President Trump’s tough border security policies.
