NANCY MACE JOINS WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP TO USHER IN MORATORIUM ON OFFSHORE DRILLING

September 8, 2020 (CHARLESTON, S.C.)  — Today Rep. Nancy Mace, the Republican nominee for South Carolina’s First Congressional District, joins with President Donald J. Trump and the White House administration to usher in a moratorium on offshore drilling off of South Carolina’s coastline through 2032.

Rep. Mace has sponsored legislation to ban drilling off South Carolina coast, and is in favor of a pragmatic, bipartisan approach that would allow South Carolina to enforce its ban off our coastline. While her opponent talks and promoted partisan gimmicks as his approach, Rep. Mace will work to get the job done, with the Administration and in Congress.

Nancy Mace issued the following statement:

“As a someone who has always and will always stand in fierce opposition to offshore drilling, I am heartened to see bipartisan support for keeping our coastline safe and secure from the threat of offshore drilling. This has been a long time coming. My first rally as a state lawmaker was an anti-offshore drilling rally. The first piece of legislation I filed as a state lawmaker was an anti offshore drilling measure. With a 100% rating from the Conservation Voters of SC, I will always fight for clean air, clean water, and for our beautiful SC coastline. Today I want to thank President Trump and his administration for the invitation to this historic announcement putting in place a moratorium through 2032 that will protect our coastline from offshore drilling.”
