I’m old enough to remember a cold December morning in 2018, standing shoulder to shoulder with Joe as we opposed offshore drilling and seismic testing along South Carolina’s coast.

I’ve always had the same position on offshore drilling – I’m opposed to it and I’ll fight for South Carolina’s right to ban it, which the state has effectively done each year in the budget.
Joe knows this because we’ve both attended events over the last two years to protect our coastline. Here is a picture of us together there.
The only difference? I was a State Rep then so he didn’t have to lie about me to keep his seat. Now that I’m running against him he and his dark money allies are dishonestly representing my position and my record as a state lawmaker.
We shouldn’t reward that kind of behavior. We were on the same side of the drilling fight then and we still are today.
We have a lot of differences we can and will talk about in this race.
Offshore drilling just isn’t one of them.
