Charleston, S.C. — August 27, 2025 — The Nancy Mace for Governor campaign yesterday condemned Attorney General Alan Wilson for launching a politically motivated attack on a disabled staffer.
Wilson posted a photo of Congresswoman Mace’s personal vehicle, which was parked in a handicapped space to accommodate a team member with a permanent disability license plate and status.
“The vehicle in question was parked in a handicapped space because a member of our team, who has a permanent disability license plate and status, was present. Maybe he should focus on prosecuting pedophiles and not attacking a disabled staffer for cheap political points,” said campaign spokeswoman Sydney Long.
“Alan Wilson has given more grace to pedophiles than to law-abiding disabled South Carolinians,” added Long.
The Capitol Police have been notified about Wilson’s reckless post, which endangered Congresswoman Mace’s safety by revealing her personal vehicle online.
The campaign also addressed the widely circulated video involving a University of South Carolina student with an umbrella:
“Our office immediately spoke with the student’s family, and we are working directly with them on ways to improve campus and school safety based on the events this weekend,” Long said. “Congresswoman Mace is a USC mom too and had the same terrifying experience as other families Sunday night.”
Recent polls show South Carolina voters recognize Wilson’s repeated failures as Attorney General, and Nancy Mace leading the polls for Governor, earning the trust and support of families across the state.
