REP. NANCY MACE DEMANDS JUSTICE AS HEARING BEGINS IN SPIVEY CASE
Rep. Mace Says Spivey Family Deserves Accountability After Two Years of Hiding, Obfuscation and Corruption
As the Scott Spivey hearing begins today, U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace issued the following statement supporting justice for the Spivey family.
“For more than two years, the Spivey family has been fighting for justice, and today’s hearing is a critical step toward getting answers they deserve,” said Rep. Nancy Mace. “Scott Spivey was chased down for nine miles and shot in the back multiple times. No amount of legal maneuvering or politics can erase those facts.”
The hearing will determine whether Spivey’s killers can claim immunity in the Sept. 9, 2023 shooting death of Scott Spivey, 33.
“I’ve heard reports that the court is already set to rule against ‘the Spivey family,” Rep. Mace said. “I pray that source is wrong. If Scott Spivey’s killer walks free after chasing him down and shooting him in the back, it will be a complete failure of our justice system.”
“This is personal to me,” Rep. Mace continued. “I’ve met with the Spivey family. I’ve seen their pain. I’ve heard Scott’s story. His family deserves justice, and as governor, I will make sure they get it.”
“The facts of this case cry out for justice,” Rep. Mace added.
Rep. Mace will attend the hearing on the afternoon of February 17, 2026 at approximately 2:15 pm EDT. The first day of the hearing.
