REP. NANCY MACE CALLS ON GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO IMPLEMENT TAX SAVINGS

Congresswoman Nancy Mace today called on the South Carolina General Assembly to move swiftly on House Bill 3368 and conform with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, following the South Carolina Department of Revenue’s announcement that it is automatically extending the 2025 individual income tax filing deadline while the Legislature works through conformity.

“South Carolina is missing out on a real opportunity,” said Congresswoman Mace. “Every day we wait to conform the South Carolina tax code to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is another day hardworking South Carolina families are leaving real savings on the table. Pass the bill. Deliver the relief.”

The SCDOR announced this week that the deadline to file 2025 individual income tax returns has been automatically extended – no action required from taxpayers.

However, South Carolinians should be aware that this extension applies to filing only. If you owe taxes, payment is still due by April 15, 2026. Taxpayers who do not pay at least 90 percent of their 2025 tax liability by that date will face penalties.

Taxpayers can pay balances at MyDORWAY.dor.sc.gov.

As the leading candidate for Governor of South Carolina, Congresswoman Mace has made tax relief a cornerstone of her platform, including her Five Years to Zero plan.

The Post & Courier states: Rep. Nancy Mace is the only candidate who has a detailed plan to eliminate the state income tax.
