REP. NANCY MACE DEMANDS EVETTE APOLOGIZE TO HER, PRESIDENT TRUMP, AND GOV. DESANTIS AND FIRE THOSE ON HER CAMPAIGN WHO CALLED THEM EPSTEIN PEDOPHILES
Evette campaign’s reckless attack is disqualifying for anyone running for Governor
Congresswoman Nancy Mace today demanded Lt. Governor Pam Evette publicly apologize and immediately terminate Chris Grant and Justin Evans of Big Dog Strategies after the Evette campaign insinuated that Rep. Mace – a survivor – along with Gov. DeSantis and President Trump, are Epstein pedophiles simply because their names appear in some false and deranged email.

The Evette campaign doubled down by stating that anyone mentioned in the files “needs to answer for that.” By that standard, their campaign is falsely smearing President Trump, who has publicly condemned Epstein, banned him from Mar-a-Lago, and has never been implicated in Epstein’s crimes. Governor DeSantis was similarly named in the false, anonymous email referenced in the same material as Rep. Mace.
The suggestion that survivors, public officials, or anyone else is guilty by association because their names appear in publicly released documents is reckless, defamatory, and dangerous.
“Everette’s campaign is falsely labeling a rape survivor, President Trump, and Governor DeSantis as Epstein pedophiles,” said Rep. Mace. “I called on her last night to apologize. Instead, her campaign doubled down. This kind of smear is disgraceful and beneath anyone seeking to lead our state.”
Rep. Mace campaign Spokeswoman Piper Gifford added: “Rep. Mace fought to release the Epstein files so real predators face real justice. And Evette’s response is to insinuate that Rep. Mace, the sitting President, and Florida’s sitting Governor are among them.”
The false allegation traces back to a single anonymous email sent to the FBI after Rep. Mace announced her run for governor in August of last year. At the time referenced, Rep. Mace had no connection to Ron DeSantis or Jeffrey Epstein and was not involved in politics.
“Evette has a choice,” Gifford said. “Fire Chris Grant and Justin Evans and apologize to survivors, President Trump, and Governor DeSantis, or own the most unhinged smear campaign in South Carolina politics. There is no middle ground.”
“Does Pam stand with President Trump, or with her campaign smearing him and her opponent as pedophiles?” Gifford added. “Fire them or own it.”
